This Ihle Kinder Sport amusement park kiddie car was designed to resemble a Mercedes-Benz Roadster, and it was manufactured by Ihle Brothers of Bruchsal, Germany. Previously used as part of a “Turnpike” amusement park ride, the car was modified under prior ownership with the installation of a 48-volt electric motor, rack-and-pinion steering, disc brakes, and chain drive. The metal bodywork is finished in black over a tubular steel frame, and features include 8″ Rudge-style steel wheels, black bumpers and overriders, a grille with a red insert, taillight pods, dual three-spoke steering wheels, and seats trimmed in black and tan upholstery. This Mercedes-style Knder Sport electric go-kart was purchased by the seller in 2023 and is now offered at no reserve in Lakeville, Connecticut, on a bill of sale.
The metal bodywork was refinished in black under previous ownership and features black bumpers with overriders, yellow headlight lenses with chrome surrounds, a grille with a Mercedes-Benz-style logo over a red textured insert, a faux hood scoop, silver bodyside accents, taillight pods, a bright rear engine cover latch and hinges, and a rear Kinder Sport emblem. The headlights are not connected.
Silver-finished Rudge-style steel wheels wear faux two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 3.50–8 Continental tires. Stopping power is by cross-drilled disc brakes fitted at the rear.
The cockpit has been modified with a rack and pinion steering connected to the left-side three-spoke steering wheel, with twin foot pedals positioned below. The body-color dashboard features a starter key, a headlight rocker switch, and a red drive/stop button. The right-side wheel is redundant.
The cockpit features seat backs trimmed in tan upholstery with a black seat base.
The rear engine compartment is fitted with a Boma Motor Co. MY1020 48-volt 1,800-watt electric motor linked to the rear axle via a chain-drive system.
