The Tesla Roadster was based on the aluminum tub from the contemporary Lotus Elise, with which it shared its windshield and windshield frame. The remainder of the carbon-fiber body panels were unique to the Tesla, and it utilized a 2″ longer wheelbase than the Elise. This example is finished in Thunder Gray and features a black removable soft top, an exterior charging port, an integrated rear spoiler, LED taillights, and carbon-fiber on the roof bow.
The 16″ and 17″ forged aluminum wheels are mounted with 175/55 front and 225/45 rear Yokohama Advan Neova tires. The Roadster Sport was factory equipped with traction control as well as adjustable dampers and anti-roll bars. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with a regenerative braking system.
The cabin features heated sport seats upholstered in two-tone gray leather along with matching door panel inserts and a black dashboard. Appointments include a center-mounted screen, a JVC stereo, cruise control, and air conditioning.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a kilowatt usage gauge, and a digital vehicle-range bar. The digital odometer indicates 3,200 miles.
A 53-kilowatt-hour battery pack powers a three-phase, 375-volt AC induction motor featuring a hand-wound stator. Factory-rated output was 288 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque in Sport specification. The Power Electronics Module and cooling system were cleaned in May 2024.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner single-speed transmission.
The window sticker shows initial delivery to Tesla Motors of San Carlos, California, and lists factory equipment and a total vehicle cost of $145,145.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
