This 1915 Baker Electric Model DA coupe is a non-running project that is said to have been placed into storage in the 1970s and remained in the same family for approximately 50 years before it was purchased by the seller in 2024. The car is finished in green with black fenders over green tufted cloth upholstery, and it retains a mid-mounted electric motor. Additional equipment includes carriage lamps, rear-hinged doors, a steering tiller, and rear-facing jump seats. The car has not been driven since the 1970s, and batteries are not included in the sale. This Baker Electric is now offered with a battery charger and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

The Cleveland, Ohio-based Baker Motor Vehicle Company began producing electric vehicles in 1899 and by 1906 was the largest EV maker in the world, producing approximately 800 examples a year. The DA coupe was introduced for 1915, the year the automaker merged to form Baker, Rauch & Lang. This example is finished in green with brown pinstriping and black fenders that are said to have been repainted in the 1950s. Equipment includes headlights, carriage lamps, a windshield with a glass visor, rear-hinged doors, Baker-branded running boards, and a single taillight. A 1940 Pennsylvania inspection sticker is affixed to the windshield. Areas of paint loss and other imperfections in the finish can be seen in the gallery below.

The wire-spoke wheels wear chipped black paint and Baker Electric-branded hubcaps, and they are mounted with older bias-ply whitewall tires. The left rear hubcap is missing. The Model DA rode on a 90″ wheelbase and featured live axles with leaf springs at all four corners. Rear mechanical drums are retained.

The left-hand-drive, five-passenger cabin features a bench seat trimmed in green tufted cloth along with a color-coordinated headliner, door panels, carpets, and rear-facing jump seats. Wear on the upholstery and carpets can be seen in the gallery.

A steering tiller, hand controls, and foot pedals are fitted ahead of the driver, while gauges for voltage and amperage are mounted on the firewall between the two jump seats along with a Veeder odometer that shows 9,400 miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The car is not equipped with batteries.

The car retains a mid-mounted electric motor. There is corrosion on the underside components.

Chassis number 150535 is presented above, and the Ohio title lists the VIN as B150535.
