This 2008 Tesla Roadster has 3,600 miles following registration history in New Jersey and Ohio, and it features a 53-kilowatt-hour battery pack powering a three-phase AC induction motor paired with a single-speed transmission. Finished in Thunder Gray over gray leather upholstery, it has a black removable soft top, 16″ and 17″ five-spoke wheels, heated sport seats, a Blaupunkt stereo, cruise control, aluminum pedals, carbon-fiber interior trim, and air conditioning. This Roadster is now offered in Mississippi on dealer consignment with charging cables, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title.
The Tesla Roadster was based on the aluminum tub from the contemporary Lotus Elise, with which it shared its windshield and windshield frame. The remainder of the carbon-fiber body panels were unique to the Tesla, and it utilized a 2″ longer wheelbase than the Elise. This example is finished in Thunder Gray and has a black removable soft top, carbon-fiber accents, an exterior charging port, an integrated rear spoiler, and LED taillights. Exterior imperfections are highlighted in the gallery.
The 16″ and 17″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with Yokohama tires. The car is equipped with traction control as well as front and rear independent wishbone suspension with co-axial coil springs and telescopic dampers. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with a regenerative braking system.
The heated sport seats are upholstered in gray leather and are joined by color-coordinated door panel inserts. Tesla-branded floor mats line the footwells, and additional appointments include carbon-fiber trim, a Blaupunkt stereo, aluminum pedals, cruise control, and air conditioning.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 13k-rpm redline. A configurable multifunction LCD screen is mounted to the left of the steering column. The digital odometer indicates 3,600 miles.
A 53-kilowatt-hour battery pack powers a three-phase, 375-volt AC induction motor featuring a hand-wound stator. Factory-rated output was 248 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a single-speed transmission.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
