This children’s ride was manufactured in the style of a Porsche 962 by Industrias Falgas S.A. of Spain and was purchased by the seller in 2023 before being refurbished. The ride features fiberglass bodywork with a blue and white Rothman’s Porsche livery over a black base, and equipment includes front and rear lights, gold wheel accents, a rear spoiler, a speaker system that plays simulated engine noises, and a Superior Performance three-spoke steering wheel. Motion is provided by a coin-activated electric motor. This Porsche 962-style children’s ride is now offered at no reserve in Jefferson, Georgia, with a bill of sale.
The J. Falgas company was established in Spain in 1960 to produce children’s amusement rides. The Porsche 962-style fiberglass bodywork on this example was refurbished under current ownership and finished with a replica Rothmans Porsche livery in tribute to the 1987 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning 962C driven by Derek Bell, Hans-Joachim Stuck, and Al Holbert. Additional features include front and rear light lenses with flashing lights, side steps, a red faux tow hook, a #17 race number, a faux silver windscreen, a faux airbox, a chrome roll hoop, faux dual exhaust outlets, and Rothmans, Porsche, Dunlop, and Shell logos.
The plastic wheels have J. Falgas Figueras logos and gold-finished multi-spoke end caps.
The cockpit is equipped with a single fiberglass seat finished in black aft of a Superior Performance “the 500” three-spoke steering wheel. A silver push-button on the right side of the dashboard operates the front and rear lights. A replacement coin mechanism is positioned below and requires 25 cents to activate the ride.
An Eletech control unit was fitted under current ownership and is located within the rear access panel that has a locking key. It is programmed to play simulated Porsche-style engine noises.
The base is finished in black and features rubber step pads with a debossed manufacturer’s script along the sides as well as an emblem on the front.
