This go-kart was reportedly built by Crosthwaite and Gardiner to resemble the Bugatti Type 52, which was a child’s car offered by the automaker from 1927 to 1936 as a scaled-down electric version of the Type 35 Grand Prix. The aluminum body is finished in blue and features 8″ cast aluminum wheels, a nickel-plated faux radiator shell, leather hood straps, a side-mount spare wheel, an ammeter, and a bench seat trimmed in tan leather. The kart retains a mount for an electric motor, although it is not fitted with a powerplant. This Bugatti-style kart was purchased by the seller 15 years ago, reportedly from the original owner, and is now offered at no reserve in Woodbury, Connecticut, on a bill of sale.

The aluminum body is finished in blue and features a nickel-plated bronze faux radiator shell, a louvered hood and tail, a chrome handbrake lever, a Bugatti emblem, and leather hood straps. Imperfections are indicated in the gallery below. The kart measures approximately 77.25″ long, 27.5″ wide, and 21.75″ high.

The 8″ cast aluminum wheels wear brass knock-off hubs, and they are mounted with 3.50–8 Michelin S83 tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted on the left of the body. The kart features semi-elliptical leaf springs up front, and stopping power is provided by cable-operated mechanical drums at all four corners.

The cockpit features a bench seat trimmed in tan vinyl.

The black-painted four-spoke steering wheel fronts a painted dash housing an on/off switch and a Bugatti-branded ammeter. Imperfections are visible in the steering wheel.

The chassis number BG3040231 is stamped into the aluminum bodywork
